About Me

I started Spiritual Fitness in 2007 after realizing how combining fitness, meditation and psychotherapy helped me create the life that I wanted and reach my ultimate potential.  After realizing the benefits, I wanted nothing more than to help others experience the same thing.  Following the path, I believe that was destined for me, I began volunteering at domestic violence agencies to help those that were vulnerable and most in need of therapeutic healing.  I also began to offer the community fitness related activities (i.e. outdoor running groups).  Soon afterwards I received my fitness certificate (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) to teach a variety of fitness classes including:  dance cardio, barre, yoga, aerobics and boot camps.  I decided to pursue a Masters in Social Work at Wayne State University to accompany my passion of helping others in the social services arena.  It became apparent, along the journey that managing addiction to food, substances and other toxins is an essential part of the healing process.  It is for this reason, I spent several years counseling individuals with substance use and obtaining a CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor).  Currently, I am offering the above services and researching and evaluating culturally specific interventions.  It is with gratitude, acceptance and great respect, that I look forward to offering the above services to my community!
As many of you know, I am fond of inspirational quotes and have used so many of them to inspire and grow my day to day.

Here’s one for all of you from me, it’s an original:
“All that is seemingly lost or forgotten has a way of coming back in some form or another”
Sincerely and gratefully yours,
Pam Raj
